Pain is an inevitable part of life, and we all experience it at some point. Whether it’s due to an injury, chronic condition, or simply aging, pain can be debilitating and affect our quality of life. But what if there was a way to relieve pain without relying on medication or invasive procedures? Enter electrotherapy, a cutting-edge technology that is changing the game when it comes to pain relief.

Diabetic neuropathy is defined as a dysfunction of peripheral nerves, following a distal-to-proximal progression, and manifesting through symptoms and signs of pain and/or sensitization, muscle weakness, and numbness or desensitization. The exact cause of diabetic neuropathy is not fully understood, but it is believed to be related to high blood sugar levels.

In standard therapeutic TENS devices, a square wave at frequencies ranging between 50 and 100 Hz is used for therapy. This type of stimulation pattern is slow and travels at a speed which facilitates transmembrane ionic flow – an essential and well-known mechanism for the generation of action potentials.
